About Reiss Earthworks

Reiss Earthworks LLC is a Missouri excavating, grading, and earthwork contractor specializing in projects for the commercial and rural client’s earthwork needs since 2011. We provide our client with a variety of services from land clearing, road reclamation, building pad construction, demolition and everything in-between.
At the end of the day, all of our projects are related to handling earthly material in some form. It’s a rarity for our hands to not be covered in dirt, grease, or calluses. We value the relationships that we have developed with our clients and we are attentive to their needs.  Each project is taken in hand with our old fashioned family values and modern day systems. We can proudly say that a majority of our business is based on referrals.

Our Story

Tres Reiss in Skid Steer, Land Clearing
Lee's Summit Earthworks Excavators, Thomas and Cami Reiss
Looking back, it must have been meant to be.  In the spring of 2011, Tres purchased a Bobcat (a piece of construction equipment designed to move material).  It was the right price, at the right time, and a match made in “small business heaven.”  At the time, we had 3 young mouths to feed, entrepreneurial spirit in our hearts, and a dream to return to Tres’ family’s excavating roots.  Tres is a ”4th generation dirt man.”  Much like his Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa, all four generations have, “bet their life on dirt,” at some point in their life time.

We started this business with that one machine, which we still have and always will.  Starting out, we worked small 4 hour grading jobs with that bobcat and advertising on Craigslist to make the phone ring. Now, we pride ourselves that most of our work comes from referrals. The best compliment we receive is when we answer the phone and the person starts with, “Yes, I got your name from…” I know then that we passed the previous client’s test and they felt comfortable putting their name on the line to refer us to their family and friends.  I can confidently say that our clients refer us because of the customer service that we provide, short lead times, open communication, and quality craftsmanship.

Fast forward to a decade later... Since that initial Bobcat purchase, we have grown and will continue to grow into the next generation and beyond.

These days you will find the crew "hammer down" to the next cell phone tower access road, moving equipment to clear trees, cutting in a parking lot, building pad, or digging a foundation. Meanwhile, another truck is delivering topsoil or gravel to a different project.
It’s common to see three generations of our family working side by side repairing a machine in the shop, securing materials for the next job, or delivering a machine late at night to be ready for the next day. We’re firm believers that a family that sweats together, stays together. Our children, the next generation, are being taught a trade. We are very proud of these values.
